Hari ini, tangal 27 Januari 2008 pukul 13.10 WIB Pak Harto menghembuskan nafasnya yang terakhir di RSPP Rumah Sakit Pusat Pertamina Jakarta pada usia ke 86 tahun.
Rencananya hari ini jenazah akan dibawa ke kediaman di Jalan Cendana Jakarta, Setelah itu disolatkan di Masjid At Tin baru diterbangkan ke pemakaman keluarga Astana Giri Bangun
